Levels of care
Each program begins with an assessment. The right level depends on your current needs, safety, clinical history, support system, and goals.

“Dual diagnosis” is the familiar term for an alcohol or drug use disorder occurring with a mental health condition. At Blue Springs, substance use remains the primary treatment focus while clinically appropriate co-occurring care is coordinated within the same recovery plan.
Substance use, withdrawal and relapse risk, emotional symptoms, health, functioning, and recovery supports are considered together.
Mental health goals are tied to cravings, emotional regulation, participation, relationships, and continued recovery.
PHP, IOP, or outpatient intensity is selected through clinical assessment—not a generic online checklist.
What integrated care means here
Cravings, withdrawal risk, health, mood, trauma, relationships, work, and the recovery environment can affect one another. Our role is to understand the full context, address clinically appropriate co-occurring needs, and keep alcohol or drug use disorder at the center of the plan.

The Blue Springs approach
Addiction treatment is not a slogan or a fixed sequence. It is a collaborative process that combines ASAM-informed assessment, individualized planning, SUD-focused groups, one-to-one support, coordination with medical or psychiatric providers when appropriate, and practical transition planning.
